Activists of a splinter Dravidian outfit Wednesday barged into the venue of a workshop on the Centre's Draft National Education Policy and questioned its conduct without the presence of all stakeholders.
Thanthai Periyar Dravid Kazhagam general secretary K Ramakrishnan along with a few activists entered the college where the workshop was being held and alleged the organisers had invited only those who were supporting the draft NEP.
The workshop was conducted based on the directives of State Council of Education Research and Training, to elicit views from various stakeholders from eight western districts of Tamil Nadu.
SCERT officials said it was attended among others by headmasters of District Institute of Education and Training from the districts.
However, the officials said they could not invite students, teachers, parents, education officials, school headmasters from the districts due to paucity of time, as information on conduct of the workshop was received late.
The draft NEP has come in for criticism in Tamil Nadu from various political parties, including the DMK which alleged that it sought to impose Hindi.
