DRDB gives clearance to 536 schemes worth Rs 750 crore

Delhi Rural Development Board (DRDB) today gave clearance to 536 schemes worth Rs 750 crore for the capital's rural areas where Mohall Sabha will ensure development works.

The decision was taken in a board meeting of Rural Development Board chaired by Development Minister Gopal Rai here.

In the meeting, it was also decided to execute 536 scheme in a phased manner, initially approximately Rs 2 crore will be spent per village.

A senior government official said that to ensure development in the capital, Delhi Rural Development Board today gave clearance to 536 schemes, including improvement of roads, drains, water bodies, community centres, parks, cremation centres and play grounds to be implemented in phased manner in the rural villages.
 

"Government will take all necessary steps to improve the condition of roads, parks, small drains and multi-purpose community halls as well to ensure supply of water and electricity in all rural areas. Maintenance of existing infrastructure will be also done," Rai said here.

An official said that 536 schemes worth Rs 750 crore will be carried out in a phased manner.

The minister also said that apart from providing basic amenities to the people of Delhi living in urban areas, the government is committed to provide facilities to the people living in rural areas also.
