India will for the first time display its indigenously-developed weapons systems, platforms and equipment at an international event to be held at Seoul in South Korea.

Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), along with its production partners, will display India's strengths and expertise in design, development and production at the International Aerospace and Defence Exhibition (ADEX) in Seoul between Oct. 29 and Nov. 3, the Defence Ministry said today.

More than 30 countries are participating in the fair.

The indigenously-developed systems to be showcased by DRDO include the Akash missile defence system, Tejas light combat aircraft and its variants, airborne early warning and control systems, advanced radar, sonar and communications systems, among others.

A large number of products developed by DRDO and produced in India, including those being displayed at ADEX-2013, have immense export potential, the ministry said.

In August 2013, the Explosive Detection Kit (EDK) developed by DRDO and already being produced in India was launched in the US after the technology for its manufacture was transferred to a US firm, it said.

DRDO's participation in the event will go a long way towards promoting international collaboration and generating fruitful interaction with leading global leaders in the defence sector, the ministry added.

The DRDO pavilion at ADEX will be inaugurated by India's Minister of State for Defence, Jitendra Singh, on Oct. 29. Its team will be led by its chief, Avinash Chander.
