Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) unions have given a strike call tomorrow in protest against any move of stake sale by the company.
"Unions representing the non-executives and crew and petty officers of the Dredging Corporation of India Ltd have given call for one-day strike on April 11 in protest against rumours of strategic sale of DCI," the company said in a filing to the BSE.
The management has requested the unions to withdraw the strike, it said.

"The Regional Labour Commissioner (Central) has conducted conciliation proceedings on strike notice issued by the Union and has advised the unions not to go on strike since the matter is under conciliation. Any strike during the pendency of conciliation proceedings is prohibited and is illegal," the company said.
Steps have been taken for alternative arrangements for smooth operations of the company, it said.
