The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence has detained Ravindra Konduskar, brother of Abhijit Konduskar of Konduskar Travels, and three others in connection with the seizure of 405 kgs of psychotropic drug Mephedrone today.

"We have detained Ravindra and three others for questioning," said an official.

Interestingly, Abhijit, who owns renowned Konduskar Travels, had been arrested by DRI in 2011 in connection with the illegal manufacture of Ketamine.

According to the official, the DRI, in collaboration with Customs (Pune), intercepted a vehicle on the Mumbai-Pune Highway today on the basis of intelligence that it was transporting Mephedrone from Islampur near Sangli to Mumbai, and detained one Nasir Sangli.

They seized 50 kgs of Mephedrone, also called as MD or Meow Meow, from him.

The contraband was reportedly manufactured in Islampur- based Omkar Industries which is owned by Ravindra Konduskar.

"The factory was searched and 355 kgs of Mephedrone was recovered," the official said.

He said the DRI also detained one Ayub Makangar who was allegedly overseeing the activities and coordinating with buyers for transporting the "goods".

Another person who has been detained is identified as Ayub Khan and his office and residence were searched by the sleuths.
