DRI seizes over 4.65 kg gold at Hyderabad airport; 2 detained

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) today seized 4.65 kg gold and detained two persons including a passenger at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here on charge of smuggling the yellow metal.

The gold in the form of biscuits, weighing 4.65 kg and worth over Rs 1.2 crore, was concealed in cigarette packs and was handed over in a bag by a passenger, who arrived at the airport from a flight from Dubai, to a ground handling staff, DRI Additional Director General M K Singh said.

"The duo have been picked up for questioning... Further investigation is underway," Singh told PTI.
