Drinking Water and Sanitation Awareness Week campaign launched

The National Drinking Water and Sanitation Awareness Week campaign was launched in 11 districts of Nagaland today.

The week-long programme was directed at villages having low awareness on drinking water and sanitation, Minister for Public Health Engineering, Noke Wangnao said.

The minister expressed hope that the rural people will be motivated to live a better and healthy life.

Principal Secretary R Benchilo Thong stressed on the need for community participation to create better awareness on safe drinking water and hygienic sanitary habits.

Earlier as part of the campaign hundreds of school students took out a procession from High School junction to New Secretariat holding placards with messages and appeals for hygienic living, saving water and stopping pollution.
