Newly-elected BJD MLA of Bijepur, Rita Sahu today said her main focus will be on drinking water, irrigation and problems of weavers.
Sahu accompanied by Labour Minister Susanta Singh, Textile minister Snehangini Chhuria called on Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here and sought his blessings today.
"I sought the chief minister's blessings and he advised me to serve the people of Bijepur. I will try to fulfil the dreams of my late husband," she told reporters.
Sahu said she is dedicated towards development of Bijepur.
Sahu, the widow of late Bijepur Congress MLA Subal Sahu, won the by-poll on a BJD ticket by defeating her nearest rival Ashok Panigrahi of BJP by a huge margin of 41,932 votes.
