A 'Bangladeshi bhagao abhiyan' will be launched by BJP in Assam soon, said Jorhat BJP MP Kamakhaya Prasad Tasa who also asked the people not to employ illegal migrants as domestic helps or construction workers.
The drive will start from Jorhat district to be followed by other parts of the state, Tasa told reporters here.
A door-to-door survey has already been started to identify the immigrants and it will be intensified when they return after casting their vote in Dhubri, Goalpara, Bongaigoan, Barpeta, etc, he said yesterday.

The state and district BJP members with the help of the Sang Parivar constituents were also working to locate the illegal migrant pockets in Jorhat constituency, said Tasa who defeated former Union Minister Bijoy Krishna Handique in Lok Sabha elections recently.
The pockets were in Kaziranga National Park area, Buraphara area, Merapani, Uriamghat, besides a number of them living within Jorhat city where the migrants resided in rented shanties in slum areas, the first time MP said, adding they even acquired voter cards.
He alleged hectares of the state government-owned Assam Tea Corporation Ltd land have been illegally purchased by migrants in Cinnamora tea garden area.
The BJP leader also appealed the people not to employ illegal Bangladeshis as domestic helps, construction site workers or permanent employees in any organisation.
