About four PLFI activists laced with fire-arms at the construction site and pumped in three bullets into the body of the 34-year-old Md Ismail Ansari for construction of a road between Bandgaon and Lyangi village under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadar Yojna (PMGSY), officer-in-charge of the police station, Daud Kiro told PTI.

The victim, a resident of Hazaribagh, was working for the Ranchi-based construction company, which began its work only yesterday.

The ultras shot Ansari only because the company did not intimate the outfit about the road construction to it, Kiro said referring leaflets were recovered from the spot.

The leaflets, issued by the area commander Munna ji of PLFI Chotanagpur Region Committee, warned people to face a similar fate if they dare to defy the directive of the outfit.

A police team has rushed to the spot and recovered the body as well as three empty cartridges including one of 9 mm pistol, he said.

Earlier, an employee of a construction company engaged in a road construction between Bandgaon and Chakradharpur was also shot dead by PLFI activists about three months ago.
