"Though Maoist activities are contained, more has to be done as they are waiting to strike if there is any negligence," the DGP told a press conference here.
"All superintendents of police have been asked to be vigilant and should not be complacent in this regard," Rath said.
He attributed the drop in Maoist violence to the "tremendous improvement in police intelligence network and acquisition of modern armoury.
"These things have enabled the police get successes one after the other," he said.
Contrary to the Maoists claim that they were fighting an ideological war, the DGP said that actions of the Maoist had proved that they were anti-nationals.
