A video purportedly showing a district drug controller rudely behaving with a laboratory technician has surfaced, prompting authorities to today send a team of two senior officers to inquire into the issue.

Haryana's Director General Health Services D P Lochan sent Director, Health Services Pawan Garg and Additional Drug Controller Narender Ahuja to Ambala after state Health Minister Anil Vij forwarded the clip to him on Whatsapp and directed him to take immediate action in the matter.

In the video, Ambala drug controller Dinesh Rana is purportedly seen refusing to hear the grievances of a lab technician of a primary health centre (PHC) and asking him to file his complaint with the health minister.

In his complaint to Vij, the lab technician -- Rajesh -- mentioned that he had filed a complaint to "Chief Minister's flying squad" stating that the PHC had purchased HIV kits worth thousands of rupees at higher rate from an unauthorised medical shop in 2014.

Rajesh said that he had gone to meet Rana two days back to request him to check whether the chemist shop which supplied the HIV kits was authorised or not.

The complainant alleged that Rana rudely told him that he was overburdened and had no time to listen to him.

Rajesh prepared a video clip of the conversation with the drug officer and sent it to Vij on Whatsapp through a friend. Vij forwarded it to Lochan for further action.

Rana was not available for comment.

Garg said he had informed Rana to reach office by evening today to give his statement on the entire episode.
