A drug peddler was arrested
today in Pollachi in the district and some narcotic drugs and a few syringes seized from his possession.
Based on a tip off that some persons were bringing narcotic drugs from Palani, police intensified vehicle check near bus stand in Pollachi. As they stopped a bus, a 28-year old youth was found behaving in an abnormal way, police said.
On search, police found drugs contained in two bottles and 25 syringes in the bag of Kathiresan.
Interrogatoin revealed that he was indulged in the business for the last few years and supplying the intoxicating drugs to students in the area. He also used to teach the students on how to administer the drugs into the body through syringe, police said.
Police are interrogating Kathiersan to ascertain the source of supply in Palani and the educational institutions, where he was supplying them.
