Drug peddler held from Anantnag: Police

An alleged drug peddler was today arrested along with contraband substance in Anantnag district of south Kashmir, police said.

Sajad Ahmad Dar, a resident of Meerpora-Monghal village, was arrested on a specific information near his village, a police spokesman said.

20 bottles of codeine phosphate and 550 tablets were recovered form Dar's possession at the time of his arrest.

He was booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and is being questioned, the spokesman said.
