Drug peddler held with 6 kgganja in Ghaziabad

A suspected drug peddler was arrested with 6 kg ganja in a village here, police said Thursday.

S P (City) Shlok Kumar said that during routine checking, a team of Shahibabad police approached a man who was waiting for a public conveyance holding a gunny bag in his hand near Teela Shabazpur village trisection here.

Upon frisking, police recovered 6 kg ganja from his possession Wednesday, he said.

The accused was identified as Parvez, a resident of Lisadi gate in Meerut city. During interrogation, he disclosed that he was selling ganja in small pouches, police said.

He also confessed to his long involvement in drug peddling, they said, adding that Parvez was booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and sent to jail.
