Drug peddlers held in Handwara in J-K

Two drug peddlers in north Kashmir's Handwara district were today booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA), police said.

A police spokesman said the two have been identified as Ashiq Hussain Ganai and Ishfaq Ahmed Mir.

Meanwhile, two more persons were arrested with poppy straw in Qazigund area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir, the spokesman said.

He said a police party intercepted a vehicle carrying them during checking near Jawahar Tunnel.

The two were identified as Kaisar Singh and Jangar Singh, both from Punjab.

Both of them have been taken into custody and investigation is on, the spokesman said.
