Drug racket busted in Mumbai

City police have busted a drug racket with the arrest of three persons with 13 kg of ketamine worth Rs 45.5 lakh that was meant to be supplied for New Year parties.

Three accused identified as Vidyaprasad Tiwari (41), Ramshiromani Pandey (51) and Santoshkumar Singh (31), all residents of Nalasopara in Thane district, were arrested from Sakinaka in suburban Andheri here on Saturday with 13 kg of ketamine, police said today.

"During the interrogation, the accused claimed that a purchaser was supposed to collect the contraband worth Rs 45.5 lakh. We are probing the case to ascertain who gave them the consignment and who was supposed to buy it," an officer at Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) said.
