Drug trafficker arrested with 20 kg of poppy husk in Delhi

A drug trafficker was arrested with 20 kg of poppy husk after police chased and fired several gunshots at his car in West Delhi's Mianwali Nagar today.

Police in the morning at around 8:30 AM signalled to stop a Honda Civic car at National Market, Piragadhi in West Delhi, but instead of stopping, the car sped off.

A PCR van chased the car for three to four kilometres and fired 10 gunshots to deflate the car's tyres.

Later, the car was stopped near LIG colony and the driver, Sajan, a resident of Nihal Vihar was arrested with 20 kg of poppy husk while his accomplice, who is said to be his younger brother, managed to flee, police said.
 

Sajan is being questioned to know the source of the contraband and the delivery point, police said.
