Drug trafficker nabbed

Delhi Police today arrested a drug trafficker of an inter-state drug module from Bareilley district of Uttar Pradesh.

The accused have been identified as Ashfaq (35). He is a declared drug trafficker who went absconding after Delhi Police nabbed one of his associates, Manoj, and seized 1 kg heroin from his possession in August this year, said a police officer.

Ashfaq revealed that the contraband found in the possession of his associate Manoj was given by one Sarwar Beg of Bareilly on payment of Rs 5.5 lakh through him, said the officer.

Police is conducting the raids to apprehend the main source Sarwar Beg and burst the gang of inter-state drug module, said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.
