M Mony, judge of the special court trying cases under Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act, also imposed a fine of Rs 3 lakh each on the Lankans and Rs one lakh on the other.
According to Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), the Lankans Michael Augustin Dixon alias Pavan and M Nesarajah conspired with one Suresh alias Soori during 2002-03 to finance, procure, possess, conceal, transport and attempt to export heroin to Sri Lanka.
The NCB arrested Nesarajah when he was about to receive a consignment of 9.125 kg of heroin and later Pavan was also arrested.
