Drugs, liquor sold in school premises; 43 held

Forty-three persons have been arrested across Kerala in the last two days for allegedly selling drugs and liquor to school students.

The anti-drug drive was carried out based on the directives of state Police Chief T P Sen Kumar to curb sale of cigarettes, pan masala, liquor and other contraband in the premises of schools.

As many as 76 raids were carried out and 43 cases registered in this regard since Friday, a release said here today.

With this, the total number of persons arrested in connection with such cases since May 30, 2014 has touched 10,166, it said.
