Recovery of drugs from the residence of an accused in a murder case has led to the person being booked under the narcotics Act, police said today.
Old Faridabad resident Shahnawaz had been charged with murder in May, 2010 after which he was placed in police custody.
The accused had visited his home recently on temporary parole and police received a tip-off yesterday that there was a stock of contraband at Shahnawaz's residence.
Acting on the information, police conducted a raid at Shahnawaz's residence and recovered the drug substance, for which a fresh case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been registered against the murder accused.
