Drugs worth Rs 50 lakh seized

Border Security Force (BSF) today seized over half-kilogram of heroin with street value of Rs 50 lakh from the Indo-Pak border here.

Confirming the seizure, BSF DIG R P S Jaswal said that the drug consignment was smuggled to India from Pakistan.

He said that BSF troops deployed on duty in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Daoke found a pair of slippers near International Boundary during a search of the area ahead of Border Security Fence.

Both the slippers had one packet each of contraband concealed in them. Two packets had 290 gms of contraband each, he said.
