A man allegedly shot himself dead after opening fire at his daughter-in-law in an inebriated state in Lambagaon area near here today.
According to police, Veena Devi of Alampura registered a complaint at the Lambagaon police station of Kangra district that her husband Ranjeet Singh opened fired at her daughter-in-law Ranjana under the influence of alcohol at their residence before shooting himself dead today morning.
Ranjana, who was injured in the firing, had been admitted to the Tanda Medical College, Kangra SSP Balbir Singh said.
A case has been registered and further investigations are on, the SSP said.
