"Damor was found in an inebriated condition when he fired two rounds from his service gun. Nobody suffered any injury in the incident," Sapra added.
The incident took place, when Damor and one of his aides, who has not been identified yet, entered into a heated argument over some issue and soon after that he fired in the air from his gun, Sapra said.
He first fired inside the police chowky and then went towards the door and fired in the air, he said.
The police personnel, who were present in the chowky at the time of incident, detained Damor, while his colleague ran away to evade detention, he said.
"An inquiry into the incident is on and an offence will be registered soon," Sapra said.
Damor's blood samples were sent for tests to confirm whether he was drunk at the time of incident, he said.
Consumption and sale of liquor has been prohibited in Gujarat since its formation in 1960 and the police are likely to register an offence under prohibition act, Sapra said.
