Dry weather in Himachal, mercury rises marginally

The mercury rose marginally atmost places of Himachal Pradesh today as the weather remained dry, despite a cloudy sky.

The MeT office has forecast dry weather in the higher hills for the next six days and rains and thundershowers at a few places in the lower and mid-hills for three days starting October 3.

Night temperatures remained low in the tribal areas with Kalpa and Keylong in the tribal districts of Kinnaur and Lahaul and Spiti recording a low of 7 and 7.7 degrees Celsius respectively, while Manali recorded a low of 11.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Shimla (14.8), Dharamsala (15.4), Bhuntar (16), Palampur and Solan (16.8 each), Sundernagar (19.1), Nahan (19.5) and Una (23.2 degrees Celsius).
 

Day temperatures rose marginally with Una recording a high of 33.4 degrees Celsius, followed by Bhuntar (33), Sundernagar (32), Solan (29), Nahan (28.1), Dharamsala (26.6), Shimla and Manali (24.6 each) and Kalpa (23.4 degrees Celsius).

The rain deficit in the state remained static at 26 per cent while the MeT office said monsoons may withdraw from the state next week.
