Dry weather in most parts of HP, monsoon weakens

Dry weather prevailed in most parts of Himachal Pardesh as monsoon weakened and day temperatures rose by a few notches today.

Barring Dharamsala, Jogindernagar and Palampur which received 13 mm, 11 mm and 2 mm rainfall, respectively, the weather remained dry across the state, Met officials said here.

The lower hills reeled under sultry weather as Una was recorded as the hottest place with a maximum temperature of 36 degree, followed by Bhuntar (34), Sundernagar (32.8), Solan (29.2), Dharamsala and Nahan (both 28.8), Manali (26), Shimla (25.9) and Kalpa (25.8).

There was no significant change in minimum temperatures and Kalpa was coldest in the state with a low of 13.2 degrees Celsius followed by Manali (14.4), Keylong (15.5), Shimla (16.5), Dharamsala (17.4), Solan and Palampur (both 19), Sundernagar (20.8), Nahan (20.2), Bhuntar (21.4) and Una (24.7).
 

The MeT office has predicted rains, thundershowers and snow at isolated places in lower, mid and higher hills over the next six days.
