In a bid to save the river Ganga from increasing pollution, the district administration has banned drying of animal hides and production of organic fertilisers on its banks.
The administration has constituted teams which will monitor the implementation of the rule, District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma said, adding, those violating them shall face "strict disciplinary action".
The DM, while announcing the ban, noted that drying of animal skins on the banks of the river leads to pollution.
