DSP commits suicide in Sagar

A deputy superintendent of police (DSP) attached to the SC/ST Welfare Police Station here today allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan in his house, police said.

Yashwant Singh Thakur was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his house in civil lines by a girl when she went there to deliver his tiffin-box, said additional superintendent of police D R Teniwar.

The girl informed the landlord, who contacted the police. Thakur lived alone in the rented house.

No suicide note was found, but his family members said that he was under stress for the last few days.
 

Thakur was supposed to retire in March next year.
