DTC driver, aides held for robbery at Millennium depot

With the arrest of three persons, including a DTC driver, police today claimed to have solved a case of robbery of Rs 9 lakh at the Millennium depot.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested Deepak, a DTC driver and resident of Ghaziabad, Arvind Kumar, a resident of Saboli area of Delhi, and Anil Kumar, a resident of Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh.

Police have recovered Rs 1.90 lakh, one country made pistol of .315 bore with live cartridges, paper cutter (knife), a bike and mobile phones which were used in the commission of the crime.

"Deepak, who was posted at Millennium Depot, had hatched a plan to rob the depot following which he roped in his friends Arvind and Anil to commit the crime," said a senior police officer.
 

In the wee hours of July 15, the accused had robbed depot's assistant cashier Vikram Singh of Rs 9 lakh after assaulting him.

"Police got information that Arvind and Anil were coming towards Loni Road-Wazirabad Road crossing on a bike yesterday. Police laid a trap and arrested the duo. Later, police also arrested Deepak and recovered Rs 1. 90 lakh from their possession," the officer added.
