The Delhi Transport Corporation will operate 500 additional buses under 'Paryavaran Seva', with half their seats reserved for women and onboard marshals for safety, during the five days of odd-even period that rolls out on Monday.

Sufficient number of traffic supervisory staff and timekeepers will be deputed to help the commuters, said Aradhna, DTC Deputy Chief General Manager (PR).

"500 private buses (Paryavaran Bus Seva) are being arranged on hire basis. Half of the seats, to left of the driver, in these buses will be reserved for women. Marshals will also be deployed on them," she said in a statement.

The DTC has made all necessary arrangements to cater to the expected extra rush of commuters during implementation of the road-rationing scheme, the official said.

Helpline numbers 41400400 & 1800118181 will be functional round the clock during odd-even scheme for the benefit of commuters.
