The Delhi Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation (DTIDC) has increased the fine for people encroaching the inter-state bus terminus premises by 10 times to Rs 5,000, an official said today.
The increase in the fine came following complaints that vendors were illegally occupying ISBT spaces, the official said.
The three ISBTs in Delhi at Sarai Kale Khan, Anand Vihar and Kashmiri Gate cater to hundreds of buses and thousands of travellers daily. Encroachments by vendors trouble commuters and lead to space crunch at these already-crowded places.

The situation is more worrisome at the Anand Vihar ISBT, which caters to commuters to and from Uttar Pradesh.
"The amount of fine has been raised from Rs 500 to Rs 5,000 and the responsibility of concerned officers has also been fixed and they will be held accountable if complaints of encroachment are received," the official said.
