A professor at Delhi University's Swami Shradhanand college has filed a police complaint against its principal alleging that he committed fraud in admissions through extra-curricular activities (ECA) quota.
"The acting principal of our college has released the list of students to be admitted on the basis of ECA which is not the one I, as the convener of the College ECA Admission Committee, had submitted to him," Suraj Yadav, an associate professor at the college said in his complaint.
"I have been under extreme mental pressure to change the list for last few days and when I didn't agree to make any change on the opinion of the judges, the acting principal also issued a show-cause notice to me," he said.

Police confirmed that the complaint has been received but no FIR has been registered in this connection.
"We are probing the charges based on which we will decide the further course of action," a senior police official said.
However, the accused principal, Parveen Garg, refuted the allegations as "baseless".
"These are baseless allegations. Suraj had last year enrolled over 180 students crossing the permissible limit for ECA admissions. To avoid the same, I intervened and released a list of 31 students from the ones that were received by me," he told PTI.
"According to the university norms, we can only admit 70 students through the quota including ECA and sports," he said.
Meanwhile, the college's students union has written to DU Vice Chancellor Dinesh Singh and institution's Governing Body Chairman, seeking their intervention into the issue.
"We would like to request you to kindly immediately stop this illegal admission and prevent genuine students from suffering.
"We will launch a strong protest if you do not correct the displayed list of students for admission on basis of ECA and make enrolments as per rules and correct procedures," the students' body said in its letter.
DU reserves five per cent seats for admissions through sports and ECA quota in all its colleges. Presently, around 1,400 students are enrolled in various courses offered by Swami Shradhanand college.
