The incident was reported from Room No 112 od Hindu College's hostel and the deceased has been identified as Shashi Shekhar who hailed from Bihar's Nalanda.
He was staying alone in the room and was found hanging by some of the inmates of the hostel this morning.
"A notebook has been recovered from his room. In a page, he he has written 'this is my life'," police said.
