Four underprivileged students from India were given permanent jobs by a Dubai-based company after they completed their apprenticeships with the firm.

Dubai-headquartered Transguard Group said the initiative was a part of its commitment to develop next generation talent.

"Through this initiative our aim is to help disadvantaged youth break the cycle of poverty and afford them an opportunity to build a career in one of the region's most exciting industry sectors," said Mark Povey, a spokesperson with Transguard Group.

The company has a partnership with Bangalore's Christel House School to provide a two-year in-house vocational training to talented students.
