The Kangra district administration on Sunday issued an advisory urging the public against mass gatherings in light of the coronavirus threat and postponing all fairs, festivals, processions, and rallies with a large congregation.
District Magistrate Rakesh Kumar Prajapati issued the order that states that the advisory will be in place till the situation relating to spread of COVID-19 improves in the district.
In case of any events related to religious purposes at a particular time, an adequate advisory shall be issued to public to refrain from gathering in large numbers, unless there are compelling reasons to do so.
Prominent display of material relating to COVID-19 and arrangements for hand washing /sanitisation shall be made and all due precautions prescribed by the government shall be taken by the organisers, it stated.
In a separate order, the DM designated six officers of the health department as surveillance personnel for prevention and control of the epidemic.
