Lok Sabha today witnessed a verbal
duel after BJP member Nishikant Dubey raised the issue of raids by investigating agencies at firms "linked" to a former Finance Minister's son and also levelled allegations against Congress leader K C Venugopal.
Dubey raked up the 2G scam and suggested that the firms which were raided had links with the scandal. He demanded a CBI probe.
He also dragged Venugopal into another matter, inviting protests from him.
Venugopal also objected to the reference to the former Finance Minister since he was not present in the House.
Deputy Speaker M Thambi Durai said allegations can be levelled. He, however, allowed Venugopal to make a statement in which the Congress member denied the charge and claimed that he would quit public life if it was proved.
