Dues worth whopping amount of Rs 800 crore are pending against five leading hotels in areas under New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) with two of them already having been sealed over non payment.
The information was shared by MoS Home Affairs Hansraj Gangaram Ahir in response to a written question in Lok Sabha today.
While dues of Rs 11.89 crore against Hotel Bharat (The Lalit), Le Meridien owes Rs 592 crore to the civic body.

Other hotels which are yet to clear their dues include Hotel Asian (Rs 69.43 cr) and Gesture (Rs 10.15 cr), both of which have been sealed by NDMC.
The matter pertaining to Le Meiriden and The Connaught is sub-judice in High Court .
"As per clause of license deed, in event of any beach of the terms and conditions, the license shall be terminated or revoked. It is the duty of the licensee to quit and vacate the premises without any resistance and obstruction and give complete control of the premises to NDMC," Ahir said.
The minister also said that the NDMC has power to audit the revenue accounts of these hotels.
"The licensee should furnish to the NDMC every year, within a period of 30 days of the date on which its audited accounts are approved and adopted in Annual General Meeting of the shareholders of the licensees," he added.
