Dular Reng Nawa bags best Santali feature film award

Raghunath Tudu and Soni Murmu have been adjudged best male and female lead actor for their role in Santali movie "Milon Sagaai" while "Dular Reng Nawa Sagaai" (DRNS) bagged the best Santali feature film award at the 6th Santali and Regional Film Festival (AISFA)-cum-Santali Cine Award.

At the closing ceremony here last evening, Deepak Besra earned the accolades for being best Director for his film "DRNS".

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram assured to provide all possible assistance for the development of tribal films, which has enough potential for growth and comparable to bollywood movies.
 

The film industry has opened avenues for youths to make their career, unlike their time when no one used to encourage in this field, he said asking the youths to take advantage of the opportunity.

Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda was also present in the closing function.

Appreciating private steel major Tata Steel for their continuous co-operation to make the Santali Cine award a success, AISFA President Ramesh Hansda lamented that the state government did not take any initiative to promote the Santali and Regional film sector despite our repeated appeal.

Even AISFA's repeated plea to establish a Jharkhand Film Development Corporation fell on deaf ear, he alleged adding that Santali and Regional film sector has vast opportunity to grow as well as to create employment opportunity as Jharkhand has been blessed with natural beauty.
