After skipper Kumar Sangakkara (44) and Shikhar Dhawan (52) laid the platform with a 94-run opening stand, Duminy took the opposition bowlers to the cleaners, piling up 53 runs in the last three overs.

Duminy, playing his first match in the IPL season-5, struck five sixes, which included two off pacer Pankaj Singh's penultimate over, and as many off Amit Singh's last over of the innings. He also hit three fours.

Duminy found an able ally in Australian Daniel Christian, who hit a 19-ball 29, laced with two fours and a six, to propel the visitors to a competitive total.

Electing to bat after winning the toss, Chargers got off to a flying start with Sangakkara hitting five fours, including a six off Brad Hodge over long-on, while Dhawan took 43 balls for his fluent half-century, which contained eight fours.

The mandatory powerplay yielded 57 runs with Dhawan and Sangakkara hitting Rajasthan's pace and spin trio of Pankaj Singh, Amit Singh and Johan Botha with consummate ease.

It looked like the week's break from their last game against Chennai Super Kings did wonders for the visitors as the openers batted with purpose to come up with Chargers' highest opening stand against Rajasthan in any of the IPL seasons so far.
