Looking to develop Dungarpur as a major tourist destination, Rajya Sabha MP from Rajsthan Harshvardhan Singh has said he will make all possible efforts to bring this tribal district on the national and international tourism map.

Singh, who hails from the royal family of Dungarpur, was speaking on the occasion of Vijayaraje Scindia auditorium inauguration. The inauguration was part of "3 saal Bemisaal" campaign to mark the completion of three years of present board of Dungarpur Municipal Council.

The municipal council is headed by chairman K K Gupta.

"Dungarpur will be soon on the tourist map and I will try in every possible way to bring it on the national and international tourist map," Singh said.

The southernmost district of Rajasthan, Dungarpur, has proximity to Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, making it an ideal destination for people to visit Dungarpur, Singh added.

"Dungarpur has seen a significant growth in the number of domestic tourists and we expect further improvement in that number," Gupta said.

Dungarpur, the city of hills, has many places to visit like Udai Bilas Palace, which is now a heritage hotel.

The city is also known for Shrinathji Temple, Juna Mahal and Badal Mahal.
