Two persons have been arrested for allegedly posing as specially-abled and robbing the houses they approached for help, police said today.
The two accused, V Babu (20) and Yarampally Laksmarayya (19), are natives of Andhra Pradesh. The duo used their unassuming looks in robbing vulnerable victims, said a senior police officer.
They used to go door-to-door acting as deaf or dumb, he said.

When the unsuspecting residents would go inside to get the money, the accused would quickly enter the open house, pick up valuables like mobile phones, laptops, cash, wallets, watches etc and escape from the house, said the officer.
The culprits specifically targeted PGs, flats and rented accommodations.
"They did not approach bungalows because these have a main gate and getting access to rooms inside is not easy. Also, bungalows have dogs guarding them. They feared that they might be caught if they tried to rob a bungalow," the officer said.
The two accused were arrested on February 26 from near Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station by a team led by Kuldeep Singh, SHO Neb Sarai, where they were staying in a rented room.
The accused only know Telugu and had been active in the area of Neb Sarai for the last one month, police said, adding four cases of theft have been solved with the arrest.
Police added that the duo had been arrested by Gurgaon Crime Branch earlier but were let off due to absence of concrete evidence against them.
Two laptops and an iPhone have been seized from the duo, they said, adding investigation is underway.
