Two workers of a goldsmithy at Bengaluru were arrested today on charges of stealing 1.5 kg of gold ornaments out of the 7.5 kg they were asked to deliver to various shops in nearby Tirupur, police here said.

Police said Raghavendran and Vinodh Kumar, hailing from Hosur, had come to Tirupur with 7.5 kg of gold ornaments to be supplied to various shops there and in the city.

After delivery in Tirupur, they came to the city by bus last evening, police said.

They delivered some ornaments to a few shops here and lodged a complaint that 1.5 kg ornaments were stolen from their bag after somebody drilled a hole in it while they were travelling in the bus, police said.
