A 10-member gang today waylaid a car and robbed Rs 70 lakh from its two inmates near Sulur in the district, police said.
According to a complaint lodged by Riyaz and Rasheed, students hailing from Malappuram in Kerala, the gang in their car waylaid their vehicle and took away the money.
The car was later found abandoned, with some damage, near Palladam in Tirupur District, police said.
