Two unidentified persons threw acid on a 30-year-old woman in her house at Khair area in the district, police said today.
Two masked men forced their way inside the victim's house when she was alone yesterday and poured acid on her, they said.
The victim was rushed to the district hospital in a serious condition, where she is undergoing emergency treatment.
Police said that an FIR has been registered in this connection and efforts are being made to arrest the miscreants.
