Locked in a close battle with Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) president Kuldeep Bishnoi from the Hisar seat, greenhorn Dushyant Chautala of the INLD has taken a lead over the sitting MP.

The trends available at around 3 PM showed that 26-year-old Dushyant, son of INLD senior leader Ajay Singh Chautala, had taken a lead of 11,319 votes over Bishnoi.

For Bishnoi (45), younger son of former Chief Minister late Bhajan Lal, it's a high stakes battle, as he had been projected as the leader of the HJC-BJP combine.

Hisar, from where the highest number of 41 candidates had entered the fray among all the 10 seats, also saw Bishnoi take on seven of his namesakes who share his first name, six of them being Independents.

Congress had fielded its sitting MLA Sampat Singh from Hisar, who according to the available trends, is at number three spot.
