A dust storm hit several parts of the national capital in the evening bringing the mercury down marginally after a hot, sunny day.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 39.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average while the minimum temperature settled at 24.8 degrees, also two notches above the normal, said a Met Department official.
The drop in temperature is because of a Western disturbance prevailing over the northern region for the last three days.
