Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) continued its protest for the second day today outside the V-C's office demanding inclusion of Physical Education teachers in the teaching roster.

The teachers took out a protest yesterday demanding Vice Chancellor Yogesh K Tyagi fulfil promises he made during a five-hour interaction on May 10.

"Physical Education teachers in DU colleges have been working as Lecturers/Assistants and Associate Professors for the last 30 years. Any attempt to remove their posts from the teaching roster can only be interpreted as an attempt to sabotage the process of appointments," DUTA president Nandita Narain said in a release.

"We want the university to fulfil the assurances and take immediate steps to direct all colleges to include Physical Education posts in the teaching roster and advertisement, so that the process of making permanent appointments can be expedited," Narain said.

DUTA had earlier said the V-C assured them of holding bimonthly meetings during the interaction on May 10 which was followed by a two-day sit-in protest.
