Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) will handhold Ramakrishna Mission with financial support to run two Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (GAP) centers, one each in West Bengal and Jharkhand.
GAP is a project for holistic development of underprivileged children living in unhygienic condition of slums, streets and remote villages.
While one GAP centre is in Bankura district of West Bengal the other is in Ranchi district of Jharkhand and DVC has offered Rs 11.66 lakh support for them, a company statement said.
DVC also donated Rs 5 lakh and garments to Ramakrishna Mission as relief for flood affected people in West Bengal, it added.
