Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, who is enjoying a great box office opening with disaster drama "San Andreas", is circling "Big Trouble In Little China", a remake of the 1980s action movie.

Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, who made their names in the fanboy sphere with Thor and X-Men: First Class, are writing the new version of the John Carpenter's cult classic, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Johnson will also produce the remake with his partners Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia.

In the movie, Kurt Russell played the role of Jack Burton, a trucker who finds himself in a supernatural battle between good and evil in Chinatown.

Kim Cattrall co-starred as one of a group of women who are kidnapped so their bodies can service a two thousand year old sorcerer.

Johnson's latest movie "San Andreas" grossed over USD 54 million domestically in its opening weekend and another USD 60 million internationally.
